Like Mr. Campbell, I have a fifteen year-old daughter. Before finding this book, she and I read, Into the Wild by John Krakauer. We have discussed it for hours and even watched several episodes of Life Below Zero on television. We felt a thirst for adventure, just as James and Aidan have. I'm going to go out on a limb and wager that there are thousands of other parents out there hoping to show their children that life cannot be fully lived when chained within the artificial halo of an electronic screen. As he discusses in this book, the relationship you build with your daughter will go with her for the rest of her life. She should experience the difficulties of this life with you by her side before she has to trek alone or with someone else. Now is when you prepare her.I felt challeng d on several different levels. The logistics and daily issues that go along with living in the wild, the scary endeavor that is raising a child in today's world and answering the call for significance all are themes in this book. I felt as if James were my friend by the turning of the last page. A flawed man, but one intent on being present with his daughter and showing her how to live life fully. You won't find the blinding highs and lows of Chris McCandless' story. But you will be different at the end of this book. Because it forces you to question whether or not you are living fully yourself. And whether you are passing a thirst for fullness on to your children. This is a journey worth taking.

I absolutely loved this book! I love reading outdoor survival books. This was one the best books not only because of what they did but the Dad taking his 15/16 year old daughter on three big outdoor survival trips in the middle of nowhere in Alaska was priceless! I loved his style and the subject matter I could hardly put the book down. You probably won`t see many survival books that a young female teenager is featured in the book and how she and her Dad`s relationship worked in this book. I hope this books sells well because it is a total classic read.

James Campbell tells the story of his making an indelible mark on his daughter over the course of three trips to Alaska in her fifteenth year. This book works as a father-daughter relationship book (somewhat) and as a glimpse of what living and travel above the Arctic Circle is like. The first two trips involve Campbell and daughter joining his cousin Heimo and his wife on their lonely homestead along the Coleen River. First, in summer, they help Heimo build a new cabin to escape the changing course of the river imperiling their home site. Father and Daughter give into wanderlust on returning to their home in Wisconsin and travel again to spend some time with Heimo in winter. There, they meet extreme cold as they accompany Heimo and his wife on his hunting and trapping expeditions (Heimo subsists on animal furs caught and sold). All this in preparation for the ultimate father daughter trek, a summer hike to their put in on the Hula-hula River and canoe trip down the river to the Arctic Ocean. While experienced in handling a canoe in the lower 48, they wisely teamed up with two experienced Alaskan adventurers. The last part of the book chronicles their challenging hike and rapid filled canoe trip. The author faces both aging and the moods of a teenaged girl in his frequent inner dialogues in the book. No revelations here, but his experience and wanderings about his own bodily changes and the challenges of interacting with a daughter on the brink of woman-hood are interesting as many readers no doubt have or will experience the same. This is a pretty good book. The picture of life and travel in the harsh Alaska outdoors is interesting and the best part of the book. The relationship forms the backdrop and provides the reason for the setting.

Very good book. As a father who has taken my daughters to Alaska, this book definitely struck a chord with me. I just wish I had his courage to spend a month in the bush with them. This book is very easy and fun to read. As soon as I finished I ordered another copy for my daughters to read. If more fathers were like James Campbell the world would be a much better place.

I read this as an immediate sequel to Heimo North, the Final Frontiersman. I was not expecting as good a read as it turned out. It was going to be a bog much different. Having done some flat and whitewater canoeing myself urged me to read it. Besides, I like the author's style. I found I could appreciate the river challenges and difficulties. The author did a great job detailing the scenery, the danger, challenges and triumph of the trip. It was exciting and he made me feel I was right along with them. The trials and tribulations of guiding a daughter on such a challenging trip as she literally grew up on the trip were heartwarming and I could relate to the ups and downs of dealing with a teenager. Worthwhile story and I highly recommend. I have camped, canoed, hiked and hunted much in my lifetime, but never having been to Alaska almost made me feel like I had been there and surely regret that I never have. Descriptions of the land, scenery and brutal weather are very real. Although much more intense because of the expedition, most parents can relate to the teen-parent communication difficulties and there is something for everyone to learn.

My husband and I are taking our 12 and 14 year old grandchildren to Alaska for 2 weeks this summer. While we won't be roughing it in the wilderness like Aiden and her dad, this true story gave me an inside look at what it would be like to try to survive in the Arctic wild. I was very impressed at the challenges they met and how they met them together. I don't think most fathers and daughters could do this. Their lives depended on each other and how they handled themselves. I think the author was very honest in what he wrote, not all of it flattering to either himself or his daughter. But, he was able to convey the incredible depth of trust and love the the two if them were able to acquire during this incredible, often life-threatening journey. I highly recommend this book for both adults and young people who are lovers of raw adventure and personal growth that knows no boundries.

The book was okay if you have no experience with other cultures. (That is, if you don't know that people from other countries have different cultures, which affects their behaviors and, therefore, also have different expectations of how you behave.)If you do have some experience with other cultures, then the book will read like a lot of buzz words thrown together. Cultural intelligence (CQ) is essentially your capacity for social learning in the context of engaging with individuals from different cultures. Social learning is that you pay attention to the social setting around you, retain knowledge from that situation, reproduce the behavior you learned from that situation, and you get reinforcement about how that behavior was either good or bad in similar social settings. For example, in the West we shake people's hands. You probably learned that from being introduced to it in some social setting in which you were very young. You have socially learned that behavior. Apply a similar mindset to when you go abroad or engage with culturally diverse groups, and you'll develop your CQ. The more adept you become, the more you'll recognize the interplay of a country's culture, history, values, etc. Some of the examples are good and other examples are bad. It seemed to me that the author, in writing a book about avoiding judgment of other cultures, passes judgment on characters in the stories. In one chapter the author tries to explain how the development of country-specific skills (a "laundry list") is a bad way to go about developing CQ. Instead, the purpose of CQ is "mindfulness" to recognize that the culture is different. So, in the story, the character was to illustrate a lack of CQ. The author makes a point of noting within the story how the character recognized that he was in a different culture, but he didn't know how to respond and, therefore, demonstrated a lack of CQ. That's like saying someone who has yet to learn calculus doesn't know math because he was given a calculus problem that he recognized as mathematical, but could only apply is knowledge of algebra. He failed to solve the problem because he hadn't learned the particular skill set for the particular problem. So it was detrimental to the overall point where the author was trying to explain how a laundry list of skill sets to deal with different cultures is a bad approach.

I used it for a managing across culture class. It was an easy and informative read.

A great book that is written for readers in universities, in business or even everyday citizenship. Many examples and cases to illustrate the concepts.

Book is entertaining & an easy read, it's ~ 238pgs, the last 50 or so pgs are "end notes." The author lays out enough info w/o the story being bogged down w/ too much unnecessary detail about whaling & surviving disasters on the sea. When the Essex gets rammed by the perturbed sperm whale, that's when the story gets the most interesting & disheartening. Hollywood has decided to turn this into a movie, Ron Howard (Happy Days) will direct it. Cant wait to see who they cast for the young seamen, it's amazing that ~ 1/2 of the 20 men are under age 25; the youngest is 14 & one of the survivors. If you like sea adventures, then you'll enjoy this story, read it in 2 days!

I'm not here to necessarily review the book - as several people have already expressed what a great story this is - but rather I'm here to say thank you to Nathaniel Philbrick and all other non-fiction writers who have taken the time to research amazing real life events and place that information into a gripping, factual account that somehow still reads like a novel. I'm a high school history teacher who loves all kinds of history, but was never really interested in the whaling culture found on Nantucket Island, per se. But after having read an article about the book in my Smithsonian Magazine, I was instantly gripped. I had no idea that Moby Dick was based on a real event. When I was in high school, my dad challenged me to read Moby Dick. I think he actually said he would give me $100 to finish it - and even with the cash reward - I couldn't do it. I was so bored. But, at 17 years old, I had not yet found my favorite genre: historical non-fiction. Now as an adult, and obviously because I teach the subject, I have become a voracious reader of non-fiction books, and having just consumed this one, I can tell you it was well-written and paced beautifully. In between the story of the Essex were lots of little tidbit type facts about the whaling industry in general as well as other very famous and not-so-famous stove ships and evidences of survival induced cannibalism. Very interesting book. I'll be looking for another Philbrick book to read right after I post this review.

Almost from the very beginning, the author spins together letters, partially-written accounts and log book entries-- along with his own research-- into a tale that is difficult to put down. Descriptions of shipwrecked sailors' dehydration and starvation are not for the faint of heart; furthermore, it was difficult not to squirm when attention turned to the grisly matter of 'harvesting' human flesh and doling it out amongst survivors. But a single detail refrains: in almost all accounts listed, sailors and shipmen appeared surprised and indignant when their quarry began to fight back. More than a few were bitter about these retaliations, ruminating upon them as they drifted helplessly in stranded whale-boats. But given the violent and extremely bloody methods used to dispatch a whale during that time period (first harpooning them, then rowing alongside to slash at tender tendons near the tail if they failed to succumb right away), the reason should be obvious: whales are extremely intelligent mammals with complex relationships and the same right to protect their pods and youngsters as any other creature. This tale is filled with horrific suffering, endured by both whales and shipmen alike.

I knew the outlines of the story of the Essex from reading Leviathan: The History of Whaling in America. What was most interesting to me was the story of how the crew dealt with the event, their tenacity, ability to endure enormous suffering, and willingness to follow leaders, even leaders with very different skill sets. Lots of revealing detail about the community of Nantucket, the construction of the ships, how the crews were assembled of novice and veteran whalers, the sheer enormity of the task of finding, killing, rendering whales and sailing these relatively small, relatively fragile ships thousands of miles into unknown waters. These were courageous, if not desperate, men.

Most readers now probably know that the destruction of the whaling ship Essex by a very large whale was a source for Herman Melville's great novel "Moby Dick". Without invidious comparison, it might be said that Mr. Philbrick picks up where Melville left off. He offers a fascinating and very real account -- and aftermath-- of the dramatic and dumbfounding event that actually happens at the end of Moby Dick as a masterwork of American literature. Philbrick draws from the accounts of Essex survivors and the realities of the whaling industry and its wooden ship world. It's a tough world, and Philbrick brings its details and people alive, which they once were, in a straightforward work of reportage as to what happened not only to a ship but to its people suddenly stranded in the middle of an ocean. If you've read Melville-- either recently or some time ago, as I-- you owe it to yourself to know something more of his source and to find out "how it all ends". If you read Philbrick first you may learn all you want and forego jumping into Melville's turbulent sea, with itsundercurrents of Biblical doubt, human and animal vengeance and much else. But you're more likely to sign onto Melville's fateful voyage better prepared for what might be in store for you along with Ishmael and Quee Queg in Cap'n Ahab's crew. "Heart of the Sea" is fast-moving and thorough, its narrative of real events as strange and dramatic as anything a novelist could imagine -- or make use of.

Frankenstein: The 1818 Text (Penguin Classics)

Review

“Gordon’s framing is the real standout of the anniversary edition (…) Highly recommended.”—N. K. Jemisin, The New York Times Book Review“Frankenstein is as efficient and resonant a reference today as it was in 1818. . . In this bicentennial year, much will be written about Frankenstein, its adaptations, and whether there exists a definitive or superior version of the novel. . . The 1818 Text is reflective of the thrill and nervous energy that ushered in a new era of science and society. . . But part of what makes it a little unsettling is what makes it so interesting: The chance to watch a 200-year-old novel develop. In a story that's reflected so much of the last two hundred years, and centers so much on choices, storytelling, and the potential for change, it only makes sense that Frankenstein reflects changes within its own creator”—Genevieve Valentine, NPR

About the Author

Mary Shelley was born in London in 1797, daughter of William Godwin and Mary Wollstonecraft, famous radical writers of the day. In 1814 she met and soon fell in love with the then-unknown Percy Bysshe Shelley. In December 1816, after Shelley’s first wife committed suicide, Mary and Percy married. They lived in Italy from 1818 until 1822, when Shelley drowned, whereupon Mary returned to London to live as a professional writer of novels, stories, and essays until her death in 1851.   Charlotte Gordon’s previous publications include Romantic Outlaws: The Extraordinary Lives of Mary Wollstonecraft and Her Daughter Mary Shelley (2015), Mistress Bradstreet: The Untold Story of America’s First Poet (2005), and The Woman Who Named God: Abraham’s Dilemma and the Birth of Three Faiths (2009). Romantic Outlaws was the winner of the 2016 National Book Critics Circle Award for Biography. Currently, she is the distinguished professor of the humanities at Endicott College.   Charles E. This was supposed to be the original 1818 version of the book, but it isn’t. It’s a bizarre copy - there are no publishing notes at all. It’s missing the Preface. I compared the first few chapters to an online version of the 1818 book and I noticed differences in Letter 3 where a whole paragraph was added. I would need to check the 1831 version to see if that is what this book is. I should return it but it was $4 and not worth the effort.

This book was one of the biggest surprises for me! Absolutely NOTHING what I expected. When someone says word "Frankenstein", you think about a lab, a mad proffesor, some lightning buzzing into the bolts inside monster's head. Drop all this imagination! This classical book had nothing of it! :O Maybe that's why I was so amazed. If I didn't have all those expectations, maybe my rating would be lower, but now, damn, I liked it a lot! Since I have so much to say, I'll just drop it into a list, of good and bad things :)1) It's awesome that Amazon is giving free ebooks for classical literature like this! Thanks, Amazon! And what a surprise it was for me, that this Kindle edition is the real original "Frankenstein", but audiobook narrated by George Guidhall is of a later edition (which was edited by the author herself, when her book became famous). So reading those two books where more like reading two separate books for me - one ebook and one audiobook, with quite a lot of changes, even so major as who Elizabeth was to Victor - a real cousin, or just a girl taken from street! :O2) As I said, I have expected this book to be absolutely different! A horror story, about making a man from different body parts. Actually this only took a few pages of the book. All the book was Victor's thoughts about what he had done, creatures thoughts about humankind, and 3) a lot a lot A LOT of words misery, wretchedness and countenance :D My oh my, I have never read so many same QQing thoughts in my life! :D This book could be a good 5 star if Victor's thoughts weren't so TERRIBLY repetitive. He said he feels misery/is miserable/life's misery at least 135 times (just did a search in my Kindle). I won't even count other of his cryings. I should be ashamed of making fun of his inner tortures. Victor Frankenstein had a really difficult life, but I'm not if it was a good idea by the author to write it in such a repetitive way! but on the other hand - it was an absolutely different style from the books I usually read, so also a good thing.4) Never ever don't you dear call a man-made-man a "Frankenstein"! He didn't have a name! Frankenstein was his creator. But the creature was just that - a creature. And what a surprise he was! All my life I thought of Frankenstein's creature to be a mindless monster, with bolts in his head, making ugly sounds and walking like a zombie. That's what those movies show! But this was such a mistake of mine! :O Creature was one of the most intelligent characters in the story! His ability to deduct, to learn, to feel... he was amazing! The story creature told about his first year of life was so heartgripping that I felt so fond of him, so sorry for him... Sadly later he changed.. Loniness makes people (and other creatures) do bad things... :( But still.. he was not a mindless zombie. He was extremely sensitive being.. With emotions on extremities - both good and bad. But wouldn't we be like that, if we didn't have parents and comfort of other people to learn from?I highly recommend this book to everyone who wants to read some intricate English language, but who has enough patience to suffer though all characters' repetitive sufferings (pun intended). This book is emotional, but not in a romantic way. It makes You think about creators responsibility against the creation. And most of all, it shows how Your decisions can change Your whole life!

If you're reading this review, you only have one question. You're not looking for a book review, you already know it's a classic. You already know this is the most original, and one of the best, and best-written horror stories in literature. You may or may not like the story, but that's a matter of personal taste. A lot of people don't like Shakespeare, but no one questions whether he was a good writer or not. If you don't like the writing style, it's because you aren't familiar with the English of this period. Nearly eighty years before Stoker's "Dracula" ( an idea stolen from Polidori's "The Vampyre", which was an idea stolen from LeFanu's "Carmilla"), this most-original horror masterpiece was born. So, your only question is, "Is this really the uncensored 1818 version? Because I've only seen one other verified version, and it's over twenty dollars in paperback. All the others claiming to be the 1818 version have been disproved." YES, as far as I can tell, it is. The only preface is Shelley's own original. There is no introduction, no commentary or editorial credits whatsoever. There are no illustrations, and the spelling and language have not been edited. Have a good thesaurus handy. So, here it is, the author's original script, no frills, for a bargain price. Which is exactly what I was looking for.

Do not buy this (October 22, 2017) Kindle edition of Frankenstein. The book is riddled with typographic errors and the wording is off in many places. Some sentences don't flow or even make sense. It appears a bad OCR tool was used to translate the original Frankenstein novel to this bastardization. I had to put down the book since it was simply unreadable. As an alternative, I downloaded the open source version (legally free) from Gutenberg here: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/84. I'm now reading and enjoying Frankenstein on its 200th anniversary.

A young governess is hired to care for a young girl named Flora and her brother, Miles. Miles has been expelled from a prestigious school and never explains why he has been sent home. Over time, the governess who is the narrator along with the housekeeper, Mrs. Grose believe that the children are in contact and being controlled by the evil Peter Quint, a former resident and Miss Jessel, their former governess. The children have a sweet demeanor but at times their cunning ways are apparent. Will they be successful in extricating the children from these dark forces? Read Henry James’ popular The Turn of the Screw and see how things pan out!

Primo Levi, similar to Elie Wiesel, is so closely associated in my mind with The Holocaust, and Holocaust literature, that I was surprised to find that in THE PERIODIC TABLE, Levi rarely touches on it directly. And yet, as a memoir of his life as a chemist both before and after Auschwitz, the entire book is freighted with the knowledge of his time in the camps; similar, perhaps, to a biography of a man born with a serious birth defect, and how this background knowledge forces the reader to reevaluate the simple tasks of living that he'd previously taken for granted. Simultaneously, as a part of Levi's entire oeuvre, I also had the feeling that THE PERIODIC TABLE was a statement, an affirmation by Levi, who HAD become associated so closely with The Holocaust, saying, in effect, `I am not Auschwitz. I am a chemist.'Regardless, as others have noted, THE PERIODIC TABLE is a collection of stories--some true and some fiction, and each tied to one of the elements of the Periodic Table by some detail in the story. For instance, the first chapter, titled `Argon', contains a brief explanation of the group of gases that Argon belongs to--The Noble Gases:"There are the so-called inert gases...They bear curious Greek names of erudite derivation which mean `the New,' `the Hidden,' `the Inactive,' and `the Alien.' They are indeed so inert, so satisfied with their condition, that they do not interfere in any chemical reaction, do not combine with any other element, and for precisely this reason have gone undetected for centuries."Levi then goes on to interweave anecdotes about the Jewish community he knew growing up as a child in Italy, and one quickly picks up on the association between the Noble gases and this community. Most of the rest of the stories are not quite so allegorically tied to the elemental heading, though there always remains a hint of it. The early chapters I thought were dense and philosophical, which surprised me for some reason, though I either grew accustomed to Levi's style, or the stories became more straightforward as the book went on. I also found that after the initial pages, I thought the book captivating--which, again, given the episodic nature of the stories, was surprising. The long and the short of it is that, although I expected to enjoy the book, I enjoyed it for none of the reasons I suspected I would. It is not an easy book to categorize. Part fiction, part memoir; little direct mention of The Holocaust, and yet the book is entirely infused with it--I hesitate to call it unique, but I do think it stands apart. A very intriguing book.

What can a little Midwest housewife write about Primo Levi? These autobiographical chapters, each bearing the name of a chemical element as a title, and interspersed with short stories, a written with a deft yet delicate touch, referring to but not dwelling on the horror Levi's experience as an inmate of Auschwitz. Touching in a completely unsentimental way, beautiful, really.

Periodic table' is a chemist's blueprint of the fascinating elements that make up our world. It was insightful to read this biographical account by Primo Levi, a Jewish chemist in Auschwitz, both during and thankfully after Nazi atrocity. True to its name, the focus is on his adventures with chemistry - chemistry as a man's passion, as well as a means to sustain in a big bad world. Reading about chapters on different elements definitely piqued this organic chemist's interest. It was a down memory lane on archaic inorganic analysis from B.Sc. days. Admittedly decades back during the author's time, exposure awareness and safety concerns were near non-existant and some of Levi's trysts were jaw-dropping to me as a modern practitioner (much akin to walking a tightrope without safety net!). Life of a chemist in a very difficult historical period, synthesized out of various "element"al chapters - awesome!

No, this book will not teach you what you missed in Chem 101. It is instead a stirring memoir of an Italian Jew ,a chemist, who survived the years of Italian Fascism and the subsequent Nazi occupation, by the the force of his creativity and sensitivity to the harrowing events that befell him. The memoir feels like a set of short stories. Each chapter is named for a chemical element. The use of this device was incredibly creative. In one case, Chapter 2 Hydrogen, the author recounts his teenage adventure with a friend, that generated hydrogen from water. In another chapter, Iron, the author describes his best friend and their mountain adventures. The friend seemed to have the qualities of Iron. Just as the elements have personalities- that is, they share, steal or give up electrons to form bonds with other elements, people also have personalities- resilient, affiliative, inert- and Dr. Levi draws parallels between these chemical and human personalities. And what stories he has to tell. A romance that might have been. Surviving a death camp by making flints for cigarette lighters. Uncovering a Nazi in a postwar business relationship. 3 amazing chapters which are wholly works of fantasy- not biography at all. The last chapter is a chemical story, the story of one element without a human subtext, the most important element to life on earth. The book is a tour de force, and a tribute to the fascination of scientific inquiry and experiment.

Primo Levi was a clever young man and he wanted you to know that. His use of members of the Periodic Table as a device to illuminate his characters is sometimes an overreach, sometimes silly and sometimes well honed. That he had intense experiences and met many people worthy of a good story, is not in dispute. As a writer and as a character in his own stories, he made me wish I'd known him as a friend.

Riggs was the third book in the Satan’s Fury MC Memphis series by L Wilder. It was a spin-off from the original Satan’s Fury MC series.Jackson “Riggs” Reed was the tech guru for the MC. He was smart, talented and could hack into anything. He was also known for being a player. He never went longer than a night or two with a woman. It inferred he didn’t want to but we learned quickly it was because he always compared each one to the one he let get away and they never measured up.Reece Winters was a beautiful investigative reporter in Memphis. She was working on a case involving one of the top Cartel leaders and she never imagined in her wildest dreams that it would cross paths with the one person she thought she never would see again. The reunion brought mixed emotions.Wilder began by taking us back to Riggs and Reece’s initial meeting and one night stand that turned into a weekend. She then brought us to the present and filled us in on their current lives while quickly providing a common link. The rest of the storyline evolved around the plot that continued from the previous book involving a vicious drug cartel. It was a quick and intriguing read. There were a couple incidents that I wished would have turned out different - but it was just a matter of preference. No spoilers so I can’t elaborate, but it was emotional and not the direction I wished. With that said, the book itself was well written, well developed, suspenseful and a great contribution to the series. Next up is Murphy and I can’t wait.

I could wait for a L. Wilder book for forever. Okay I am not patient so I could wait maybe 2 weeks before I want no need a new book. This beautiful soul and amazing author's books just keep getting better and better. If I had was in a life and death situation and I had to choose which was my favorite I really wouldn't be able to. But let me tell you Riggs and Reece are in my top favorite couples. Reece is this fiery strong woman and Riggs is this amazing Alpha. When they meet the chemistry is off the charts. Everything about this book had me hooked from the begining I couldn't put it down. The way this book played out the words jumped out at me and played like a movie. I was enthralled by this book. I can't wait for Murphy's book. I will try and wait patiently.

Another great addition to the series. I feel like I keep repeating myself with each book. Lol. But what can I do? It's the true. While reading this book, I felt like I was enthralled. My whole focus was on the screen and only my hand moved on its own for the snacks. Lol.Oh, you will love Riggs. Um... I feel like I'm repeating with this too. Lol. But seriously. He wasn't perfect and sometimes let his pride to get in his way, but his intentions are always good towards people he cares about. I was pleasantly surprised on certain times with his reactions. Most of the times H would drag this out. But not Riggs. He knew what he wanted, what's was really important. I'm not sure if you get what I'm going about, but I can't say more, because I don't wanna to spill the spoilers. I really loved his character and how he was with his girl. He was just... Insert dreamy look here. Lol.Oh, btw, while you can read each book as standalone, I recommend to start from the beginning, if you are new to this series. Each book has these little pieces that connects them.

I’ve been a fan of Ms. Wilder for some time and I’ve loved every one of her books. But this one was by far one of my favorites... maybe only second to Big. Ms. Wilder does an amazing job of developing her characters and allowing us as readers to get into their heads. This is a one-click for sure!! But make sure you read her other books too because it will only make this one better!!!

Awesome continuation of the series!! Riggs will do anything and everything for his brothers even if that means letting his one weekend-stand get away. Reece is the one that got away and Riggs kicks himself for it but then again he justifies it by saying it’s for the best with the lifestyle he leads. Fate throws her back into his life right in the middle of a dangerous situation. He will do what he has to to protect her but when her secrets come to light will Riggs regret his decision? A must read book of 2018. I highly recommend this book!

This is a sweet romance surrounded by the horror of the cartel and those attempting to combat them. Riggs is the computer master mind for the Memphis Satan’s Fury club. He falls for Reese after meeting her in a bar. They lose contact but never forget about each other. Fate brings them back and Riggs learns there is more to love about Reese. The ending broke my heart a bit. The author tenderly mended it but the scare was definitely there.

Well I totally thought the worst had happened at the end there, I was convinced actually & had a tear ... Wow !! Riggs & Resse yup they belong .. Many a time i just wanted to grab Riggs & say ...stop man & listen to her.. Cute how Alex & Resse are related... & finally her dad came around.. Excellent Book All Round .. Happy that an explanation will be had in the next book !! Murphy .... Excellent Reading People.

Really great book 3. I was a little discouraged in the beginning just because it seemed Riggs was going to.just let go of his weekend with Reece. This was his way, hit it and quit it. For awhile they both gave up trying to reach each other, two years actually. Not to give away spoilers, just saying.....Loved this book. Recommend!
