I am in the process of restoring my Healey. This book is simply essential. You cannot do any kind of comprehensive repair without it.I also own the Haynes Manual and the Autobooks manual. Typically, I review all three manuals and look for discrepancies. It is remarkable how often I find them. Basically, I do not want to get into a repair only to run into a problem. With a 50 year old car, I figure doing it wrong is not only not safe, it might be unfixable. This book is by far the most complete of the manuals available. It can be a little difficult to navigate because it has all the changes over the model cycle. That difficulty is essential because many of our cars have parts from earlier or later versions. If you don't have a manual with the complete cycle, you might not know what you are looking at.It does have limitations. It is clearly written for factory techs, so some explanations are less complete than I need. I find that this book with the Autobooks manual, is enough to get me by most everything. My version is paperback, but it is fairly robust, good quality. That is unlike the Haynes version. The images are good factory exploded view diagrams, which I find most helpful. Just remeber it is written in the King's English, not American English. If you have a Healey, you won't mind that though - I hope.

Whether you are trying to trace the path of a wire, replacing the rear seals or trying to figure out why the overdrive isn't working, this manual will go far in guiding you through the process.

This is a reprint of the original manual with excellent illustrations and all the specifications you need. I admit there are some things I won't be doing myself, and the shop I use specializes in American performance, vintage, and hot rods, so I bought a second copy for my mechanic. He even commented on how well it is written and how thorough it is.

The illustrations are terrible.

Prompt delivery at a very good price

Very helpful shop manual and a good value, well detailed and includes all specifications needed in rebuild of motor, transmission, brakes and so on.

perfect

Even if you don't work on your Healey, the information contained therein is good to know. If you do work on it, you need this book.

Using the Celtic tradition as a starting point, deities from other traditions are also included as well as totem animals. The questions posed in the message section of each card gives one much to ponder and journal if so inclined. I enjoy pulling a random card, studying the image, then reading the message, and applying it to what is currently going on in my life.

I love the art work and theme and bought it for those reasons. It didn't disappoint. I think having so few cards makes the deck less profound than it could have been. Some of the meanings don't quite resonate when I use them in readings. I do love this deck though and am happy I purchased it.

While the artwork is beautiful as is per normal for Jimmy Manton, this oracle clearly has clear Wiccan and New Age influences on the Celtic gods and goddesses where there should not be. The author refers to the Morrigan as "The Great Goddess" from the Wiccan tradition which is not a correct attribution for Her despite Her having triple aspects. There are a lot of other gods that are not Celtic at all that are included with a lot of the information which makes no sense for a Celtic deck. For example, Persephone is listed with card 17 as "The maiden aspect of the Goddess". Why is that even included? A lot of the information provided is very poorly researched and makes no sense which is really a shame because the artwork is phenomenal. This deck had so much potential, but it ended up being very disappointing. You might as well throw the book away. This is not for you if you are looking for something truly Celtic, but if you are a practitioner of Wicca you may enjoy this and understand this deck better. Again, the artwork is beautiful and the cards are large and easy to read. Cards are of good stock and seem to be laminated to prevent damage (though mine came bent and scratched so definitely double check). Rather pricey for only 25 cards in comparison to a deck like the Isis Oracle, which I highly recommend! I would only buy this if it were on sale for the artwork alone.

This is a beautiful deck in every way. The Artemis stunning and beautiful to place in your sacred space. I’m so in love with the guidebook. The messages are empowering and uplifting. This is everyyI look for in an oracle deck.

Beautiful cards

Connected right away. Love them

I love this deck! The artwork is outstanding and it has a wonderful guide book. I'm really happy with it.

Love these cards and the messages!

In this hateful age of filth and profanity, it is refreshing to read a story of how children should enjoy their youth. Love makes a much more enjoyable pastime than lust ever could. How I wish for the blessed days of old where children could be children before the days come when childish things must be put away. Read this book and enjoy the stroll with the children down the golden road.

"The Golden Road" is the excellent sequel to "The Story Girl", about the continuing adventures of the imaginative Sara Stanley, "the Story Girl", and her cousins and their friends on Prince Edward Island, Canada. It helps to read the novels in sequence; "The Golden Road" picks up the characters without preamble. The children are older now. Sara Stanley is still the leader of the group by virtue of her ability to tell the most marvelous stories, but she still can't cook. Together they will write and publish their own magazine, wrestle with New Year's resolutions, host an aunt who isn't an aunt, survive a snow storm, visit a witch, and attend their first wedding and first funeral. The Story Girl will finally solve the lingering mystery, from the first novel, of the Awkward Man. The escapades of the characters involve lots of innocent fun, but also contact with the adult world in ways the first novel did not. They will interact with each other as awkward adolescents, and the Story Girl herself will be on the edge of her first teenage relationship when a dramatic event changes everything."The Story Girl" and "The Golden Road" are very highly recommended to fans of Lucy Maud Montgomery.

"The Golden Road" is the excellent sequel to Lucy Maud Montgomery's own favorite of her novels, "The Story Girl", about the continuing adventures of the King cousins and their friends. It helps to read the novels in sequence; "The Golden Road" picks up the characters without preamble. The story is narrated by Bev King, who finds himself and his brother Felix back in Prince Edward Island with cousins Dan, Felicity, and Cecily; cousin Sara Stanley, the "Story Girl"; and neighbors Sara Ray and Peter Craig. Together they will write and publish their own magazine, wrestle with New Year's resolutions, host an aunt who isn't an aunt, survive a snow storm, visit a witch, and attend their first wedding and first funeral. The Story Girl will finally solve the mystery of the Awkward Man.The children are older now; their escapades still involve lots of innocent fun, but also contact with the adult world in ways the first novel did not. They will interact with each other as awkward adolescents, and the Story Girl herself will appear to be on the edge of her first relationship when a dramatic event changes everything."The Golden Road" is very highly recommended to fans of Lucy Maud Montgomery and of "The Story Girl."

"The Golden Road" is the sweet-souled sequel to Lucy Maud Montgomery's excellent "The Story Girl." The novels must be read in order; "The Golden Road" picks up without preamble where its predecessor left off.The King brothers Bev and Felix; their King cousins Felicity, Dan, and Cecily; "Story Girl" Sara Stanley; and neighbors Sara Ray and Peter Craig face winter in the small town of Carlisle, on Canada's Prince Edward Island. To pass the time, the children decide to publish their own magazine, with stories, advice, and personal ads. The magazine will be only the beginning of their adventures, as the children wrestle with New Year's resolutions, host the strange visit of an aunt who isn't an aunt, survive a snowstorm, spend a night in a witch's house, attend a wedding and a funeral, and prepare for the departure of some of their own."The Golden Road" is less about telling stories, although the Story Girl has a beauty in finally solving the mystery of the Awkward Man. This novel centers on the interactions of the children as they arrive at the awkward edges of adolescence. Much of the story, including a bittersweet ending, is told in retrospect by one of them. However, it is Montgomery's superb narrative gift that makes the journey entirely worthwhile. "The Golden Road" is very highly recommended to fans of Lucy Maud Montgomery, especially those who enjoyed "The Story Girl."

The Story Girl is one of my favorite characters of all times. Her cleverness, imagination and creative tellings charm the reader. The bonds of relations and friendships told over precious youth reveal innocence, humor and dear learning experiences. It was a joy to read.

I just love the old values. And the relationships are so well described. A lot of them (though not all) get better, and she tells how. I wish we all had the joys of growing our own food because it is so real. So much of our culture now is artificial. The pleasures of the young people in this book were home made and creative. Their relationships were deep and personal.

Cute continuing stories of beloved characters from the first book. I enjoyed the first book but this one had me both laughing out loud a d tearing up. Sweet, simple and somewhat inspirational.

This book carries the family through tweens and teens and young adulthood. There is a spread of ages in the family, so there are still enough kid's antics while the book starts to tell the issues older kids face moving into more adult roles, and looking outside themselves and how the fit in the larger community outside family and school. My sons enjoyed this book as well as the Story Girl, and if you enjoyed the first one, you should follow the continuation of the story.

Not What I Expected was....not what I expected. The subtitle is "Help and Hope for Parents of Atypical Children," but this book is also great for educators, therapists, physicians, and extended family. I am a gifted education specialist who works with kids who have been identified as "2E," gifted and also facing emotional and/or academic challenges. I have been searching for a book I could share with the parents and teachers of my clients to help them understand both the struggles of the 2E child as well as the struggles associated with raising these atypical children. When you see the previous ratings of five out of five stars, you might assume these are all friends of the author, but I have never met Dr. Eichenstein. This book is a must read for any of us who are raising (or grandparenting) atypical children, teaching atypical children, and/or who are therapists for the parents of atypical children. While most books focus on the children, Dr. Eichenstein focuses on improving the lives of the parents and the relationship between the parent and the child. I was impressed to see the depth and breadth of the strategies, as well as attention to both Western medicine and complementary modalities such as mindfulness. As Dr. Eichenstein reminds the reader, "You are not the cause of your child's condition. But you can sure make it worse." I believe this book has the potential to positively impact the lives of parents with atypical children.

This is a good, comforting book for those of us who need an emotional boost as we raise our special children. My "kid" brother has always been a delicate, emotionally fragile little guy who is a grown man now with an emotional and mental illness. His official diagnosis is chronic schizophrenia. He can be paranoid and delusional at times. My son (the younger of my two adult children) has chronic social anxiety that disables him from holding a job or mixing with people socially. I am my brother's legal guardian. I assist my brother with his housing, handling his rent and buying his clothing and other things he needs. My son lives on his own with only a healthy dependence on the family. He can drive a car, shop for his own groceries, and cook for himself. We occasionally help him with banking. I make sure he has a nice wardrobe for every season.Back when both of my first -degree relatives came into the world, our family was definitely unprepared for them. The title of this book caught my eye. The book does not particularly cover the types of illness that my loved ones deal with, but much of its advice is universal.I also purchased another copy of this book for my daughter-in-law's birthday. She and my older son have a creative, beautiful little girl that they adopted at birth. She is now in elementary school and is seven years old. Just this past year her parents learned through preliminary testing that their daughter has a learning disorder. Most significantly, she has a language-processing delay. This affects her ability to understand what a person tells her. It affects her ability to learn how to read, as well. I have worried that getting through school might be difficult for her. This book helped me sort out some of the concerns I have. My granddaughter is now receiving quality help from special resource teachers who work with her at school. In the summer she continues to get academic help through weekly day camp experiences that she enjoys considerably. I think my daughter-in-law and my son have an excellent handle on what their little girl needs to be successful in school and in life. My granddaughter attends a fine private school in a large city. My daughter-in-law researched schools carefully and picked this one as the best possible match for their daughter and her learning needs. The teachers at this school are well aware of what their students need; from year to year a child gets the benefit of having teachers who collaborate and follow a child's progress through every step of the way down their educational path.I believe that Not What I Expected...has given ME a new start in understanding a child who has an atypical way of looking at the world and discovering how things work. My granddaughter is very creative in discovering and learning things that she is curious about. She certainly thinks outside the proverbial box! My son and daughter-in-law are interested and involved in their daughter's education. They read and research articles and studies that might be of value to their own situation. For my own part, as a grandmother who lives a few hours away, this book provided a nice solid base of support. I feel more comfortable about what lies ahead because of the many relevant chapters that took me behind the scenes of what it's like to learn differently. .

Starting with the play on words on that other popular parenting book, you quickly perceive that Eichenstein is a wonderful, creative neuropsychologist who conveys her compassion for parents starting with the thwarting of their expectations for a healthy, normal child. The predominant theme in this book might be expressed in the saying, “Mourn the child you thought you had, then embrace the one you do.” The author uses the framework of the five stages of grief to give parents the perspective of how their emotions can block them from getting the help their child needs, in spite of their best intentions. However, Eichenstein’s explanations go well beyond a simplistic “time heals everything” understanding of grief. She addresses the raw, honest and dark thoughts and feelings of disappointed parents with respect and compassion. She knows her topic well from her experiences as a neuropsychologist who assesses children with learning differences. She has seen parents be unable to process the bad news, and the suffering that causes to the child and the parents’ relationship with each other. Her frank descriptions reveal the “normal” responses to an unnatural situation: parents claiming that “I was like that when I was a kid” or “It’s just a mild case, no big deal” or even that “righteous anger has amphetamine and analgesic effects” (!). She gives easy-to-understand, demystifying information, including diagnoses of specific learning issues, including obsessive-compulsive disorder and auditory processing disorder, along with the better-known disabilities. She provides practical ways that parents can work through their denial, anger, bargaining and/or depression, moving ultimately into acceptance of their real child — and how they will parent that unique child with joy and pride.Eichenstein recognizes that each parent and family may not go through all of these phases: some get stuck in denial, others bargaining. Using tools such as “boost your tolerance level” (reminders about protein for breakfast, walking or other daily exercise, and adequate sleep), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and other traditional and non-traditional therapeutic strategies, she advises parents how they can navigate the pitfalls, frustrations and exhaustion that come with being responsible for an atypical child.Eichenstein’s words are like a soothing companion for suffering families. This book is very well-written and full of proven advise. It is a wonderful perspective to have, to be reminded of all the work that parents are going through. It ends with hope: active acceptance, and the acknowledgement that we have become better people from learning about people who are different.
